| Accrual Balance Maintenance |
Used to enter initial balances for employees, as of a specified date. For
example, "Joe" might have 3 days vacation, as of 1/1/03. The tool is
typically used for system setup. |
| Accrual Formula Maintenance |
Used to specify your business rules for calculating HR Event accrual. For
example, your company may give 2 weeks vacation in the first 3 years, and 3
weeks thereafter. This tool allows you to specify those rules. |
| Activity Maintenance |
Used to specify time billing categories for summation and categorization.
For example, a project could have activities such as designing,
planning, or testing. |

Customer Maintenance
|
Used to specify internal or external customers that projects are
performed for. Enables a "customer view" of projects. |

Department Maintenance
|
Used to specify organizational entities in your company. Employees
are assigned to departments, which allows for department level views of
data. For example, all time taken for the "QA" department could be
viewed. |
| Employee Maintenance |
Used to enter information about employees who will use the system.
Information such as licensing, security, department assignment, and personal
information can be stored. |
| Holiday Maintenance |
Used to specify company holidays. Once specified, these dates are used in
the HR Tracking and Time Tracking modules. |
| HR Event Maintenance |
Used to enter HR Events such as Sick Time, Vacation Time, Holidays, etc.
These events are special projects that are used to track HR time and
events. You can specify accrual formulas with these events as well. |
| Job Maintenance |
Used to specify standard jobs used by your organization. You also use the
tool to specify skills needed for each job. |

Rate Maintenance
|
Used to specify standard rates. For example, you might define a
"billing rate" that is used to bill external customers, and you might define a
"coist rate" to specify your internal employee cost. You can
define as many are are needed. |

Reports Maintenance
|
Used to create user defined reports. You can create reports and make
them available to TrackStar users. This fully featured report writer is easy to
use, and is tightly integrated with TrackStar for selection and security. |
| Schedule Maintenance |
Used to schedule background jobs or tasks. For example, you can create a
schedule so that a report runs every night at midnight. |

Security Maintenance
|
Used to define security access prifiles for the system. Typically, three
or four profiles are created, each specifying a set of access rights.
These profiles are assigned to employees, which specify whet each emplooyee has
access to. |
| System Preferences |
Used to setup system wide preferences that are unique to your
installation. Allows for tailoring the system to your business needs. |
| User Code Maintenance |
Used to specify numerous user definable fiields, such as project type, employee
type, or expense category. Enables tailoring of teh system. |
| User Field Maintenance |
Used to create user defined fields. For example, if the standard project
folder does not include a field that your company needs, you can add one using
User Field Maintenance. |
