The Paid Time Off (PTO) Tracking module provides forms to enter and track time
off. For example, if an employee wants to take a few days off on
vacation, the system provides a method for entering the request, submittting it
to a manager for approval, and for calculating balances.
Using these tools, an administrator first establishes an accrual formula that
matches your business rules. For example, you can specify the number of
days accrued per year, and when the days are available. The administrator
also defines the "HR Events" to be used, such as Vacation and Sick, and
associates an accrual formula where needed. Also, the administrator would
load in initial balances, calculated outside the system.
Going forward, the system will maintain the balances, verify all requests to
ensure sufficient balances exist, and provide a reporting system to keep your
employees, managers and administrators informed. What could be simpler!
